Always want to try your hand at edibles but a little worried about screwing it up?

Then break your edible cherry by making firecrackers.

Firecrackers are perhaps the easiest edible to make.

These treats are like s’mores meets grilled cheese meets peanut butter and jelly.

Except instead of jelly, it’s weed.

So, let’s go over how to make firecrackers and the best peanut butter for firecrackers.

What Do You Need to Make Firecrackers?

Before you go running to the store to get some peanut butter to make the easiest edible known to man, you are going to need a couple of other supplies.

To need firecrackers, you will need graham crackers.

I suggest Honey Maid because they have a higher fat content, which I’ll get to in a bit.

You will also need a toothpick and aluminum foil.

Oh, and of course weed.

About a half a gram will suffice.

However, if you plan on feeding more heads, you might want to sprinkle more green in there.

How to Make Firecrackers

If you can make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, you can most certainly make firecrackers.

However, before you get a-spreading, you need to decarboxylate your weed.

This will be the hardest part of how to make firecrackers, but it’s still a pretty easy process.

What is Decarboxylation?

This overly complex-sounding word means to heat your weed up at low heat.

Before you cook with bud, you want to activate the THC and other cannabinoids in the pot.

When anything gets heated up, it changes that item’s genetic makeup.

Under the pressure of decarboxylation, the trichomes on the weed burst open.

When this happens, cannabinoids in the cannabis secrete out of the plant.

Decarb Weed Temperature and Time

Going through the decarboxylation process is much like preheating the oven before throwing in the food.

Speaking of which, put the rack on the top shelf and preheat the oven to 250 Degrees F.

In the ten minutes, it takes for the oven to reach temperature, start breaking up your weed.

You can do this by hand or with a grinder, but if you use a grinder keep the nugs coarse.

Once the weed is broken up, spread it out evenly on a baking sheet.

How to Decarboxylate Weed

Set a timer for 15 minutes.

Put the broken nuggets into the oven.

Keep an eye out for burning.

Don’t go over 15 minutes because you will dry the bud out and scorch the THC.

Once the time is up, take the weed out and let it sit.

Make sure you don’t handle the decarboxylated product until it has cooled off.

How to Firecracker Your Weed

Once the weed has cooled down, turn the oven temperature up to 300 Degrees F.

While the oven reaches temp, grab your graham crackers and spread your peanut butter on one side.

You want to add as much peanut butter as possible because you are going to immerse your bud into the spread.

Now take your cooled-down firecracker recipe decarb weed and sprinkle it over the peanut butter.

Try to coat the graham cracker as evenly as possible.

Stir the weed into the peanut butter with a toothpick.

Most Potent Firecracker Recipe

Once you have thoroughly integrated the decarb weed into the peanut butter, put another peanut butter cracker on top to make a sandwich.

A lot of people make the mistake of throwing the sandwich onto the baking rack and calling it a day.

However, for the most potent firecracker recipe, you want to wrap the firecracker in aluminum foil.

That way no THC escapes into the open air in the oven.

Instead, it remains trapped and seeps itself back into the porous graham cracker.

Bake for 20 minutes.

Once cool, bon appetit!

In essence, yes.

All peanut butter is sticky, can hold weed in place, and is yummy AF.

Those are more sugar and less substance.

Fat in Peanut Butter

Some health nuts are weary of peanut butter because it is high in fat.

However, if you are eating natural peanut butter, these are good fats to have.

One serving (2 Tablespoons) of peanut butter has 3.3 grams of saturated fat and 12.3 grams of unsaturated fat.

Saturated fats are the “healthy fats.”

So in comparison, all-natural peanut butter contains a considerable amount of healthy fat.

Fats and THC Absorption

Fats get a bad rap.

They are essential for so many things in our body including energy, mental health, protein synthesis, hormone production, and THC absorption.

Both fats and THC are considered hydrophobic.

When heated in a solution (such as peanut butter), THC dissolves into lipids easily.

Lipid is a fancy word for fat.

They’re also why you can get clocked for weed on a drug test up to 30 days after smoking.

Nutella vs. Peanut Butter Firecrackers

Instead of peanut butter, some people opt for Nutella firecrackers. It's a matter of taste and health concerns when you are choosing between Nutella vs. peanut butter firecrackers.

In general, Nutella has more calories, higher saturated fats (the bad ones), and more sugar.

This is especially true if you are comparing to an all-natural peanut butter rather than a commercial brand such as Jif.

With that being said, Nutella does have a lot of fat (11% in 1 serving, which is 2 Tablespoons). So, it’s great for THC boosting.

Plus, it's delicious.

So, if you prefer Nutella and diabetes isn’t around the corner, then go for it!

With that being said, to boost your high, peanut butter has 16 grams of fat per 2 tablespoons.

Therefore, in the Nutella vs. peanut butter firecracker debate, peanut butter will most likely get you higher.

What About an Almond Butter Firecracker?

Almond Butter is a great alternative in the Nutella vs. peanut butter firecracker debate.

2 Tablespoons of almond butter has 18 grams of fat.

These fats are also more unsaturated fats than saturated.

This makes an almond butter firecracker the healthiest option for firecrackers, and it will compliment THC the best.

Best Peanut Butter for Firecrackers

Now that we know the alternatives let's get to the bottom of the best peanut butter for firecrackers.

You can go with popular brands like Jif and Skippy.

However, they come with more added sugars that may counteract some of the benefits of cannabis.

With that being said, if you are going the big-name brand route, opt for Skippy All-Natural.

It’s creamier, so it will engulf the buds.

For more organic, healthier options Justin’s is a popular, non-GMO, responsibly sourced peanut butter.

Trader Joe’s has a delicious no salt peanut butter that is nice and creamy as well.

If you’re looking to switch up the peanut butter game, I also suggest Eliot’s Gram Masala Peanut Butter.

This vegan spread is a complex and sweet flavored peanut butter with minimal ingredients.
